Welcome to the spring 2016 edition of The Summit! As always, our goal is to provide a specialty broker’s perspective of the current environmental and energy markets.

Spring is the traditional time of year when contractors shake off the winter doldrums and get ready to get to work, so we thought they would be the perfect focus for this issue. Exposures and necessary coverages for contractors have evolved a great deal in the last few years. While contractors may think their businesses are unchanged, the climate in which they operate has, and thus their insurance programs need to change as well. From contractual requirements to more nuanced operational exposures, contractors of all types need to be aware of how they are exposed, and the coverages they need to consider in order to protect themselves.

Our team has written a range of articles looking at the environmental exposures contractors face, the coverages and markets available, and specific issues surrounding seasonal contracting. We’re also continuing our tradition of introducing you to a member of our team in a more in depth way.
