Learn a little bit about Chelsea Albright, Beacon Hill’s Senior Renewal Broker
Please tell us about your family, interests, and hobbies.
I am very lucky to have married my best friend and high school sweetheart, Austin. We have an adorable dachshund, Stella, that rules our household. We are both from northeast Tennessee and love watching all of our Volunteers sports teams. My husband’s work moved us northeast along the Appalachian trail to Charlottesville, Virginia four years ago. As far as hobbies, I enjoy any card or board game that I can coerce family or friends into playing with me.
What is your professional background and how it has led you to working in environmental insurance?
After earning my biology degree, I started my insurance career in personal lines with life, health, and annuities. My father was an environmental chemist for a large portion of his career with soil sampling and phase reporting being a frequent topic of discussion. With this background, the stars aligned for environmental & energy insurance to be a perfect career fit, and I joined Beacon Hill in 2015. I believe I provide a unique perspective to discuss individual exposures and corresponding coverages.
What is the most important lesson you have learned in your career?
Provide the service you would want yourself. When I am a customer, I think “what did I appreciate, or what could have been better?” The principles are the same in the service I provide: be respectful, listen, answer questions, deliver timely responses. These basic, but easily forgotten ideas can ‘make or break’ an account or worse, damage a longstanding relationship.
If you had to choose one phrase to describe
the most important motivator to being a leader in your career, what would it be
and why? What are you doing specifically
at Beacon Hill to help you achieve this?
Team Support. Behind every individual achievement is a long history of teamwork. Whether it’s a mentor by your side or the hours someone devoted in your education and training, cumulatively this contributed to the end goal of you maximizing your potential. I am fortunate to have colleagues who invest in me. I have enjoyed reciprocating these efforts by being involved in Beacon Hill’s internship program to benefit a future colleague’s career!
