Please tell us about your family, interests, and hobbies.

I am a native Houstonian and have lived in Texas all my life.  I attended the University of Texas in Austin and still try to get back to a football game or two each year.  I enjoy playing guitar and hanging with my family in my free time.  My wife (Alison) and I live in Katy, TX (way West Houston) with our daughter Reagan (9) and son Mack (2).

What is your professional background and how it has led you to working in environmental insurance?

I started my professional career in sales after college, which transitioned into a risk management role at a retail/commercial insurance agency where I provided risk solution to the oil and gas industry.  Working with energy related companies over the years, I have been tasked with providing environmental solutions for most of my retail clients.

What is the most important lesson you have learned in your career?

Be honest and never burn a bridge.  Also, being responsive, even if the news isn’t favorable, is key.

If you had to choose one word to describe the most important motivator to being a leader in your career, what would it be and why? What are you doing specifically at Beacon Hill to help you achieve this?

I don’t think I can choose one word.  I just want to treat people the way I would want them to treat me and to help anyone I can, just as many have helped me along the way.
