Team Spotlight: Nicole Jeffers

Learn a little bit about Nicole Jeffers, Beacon Hill’s Senior Broker with the Southeast Region

Nicole and her husband, Mike

Please tell us about your family, interests, and hobbies.

A Jersey girl through and through, living in sunny Florida! I was lucky enough to marry my best friend and high school sweetheart! We have 3 wonderful children, Brittany, Alyssa, and Colin. We also have a 4-year granddaughter who is our world!

I love to cook, especially baking, and I also love to read. As a family you can find us out on the boat, sitting at the beach, or enjoying local breweries.

We are also avid sports fans, with our house divided one half rooting for the NY Giants, and the other half rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles--it makes football season very competitive!

What is your professional background and how it has led you to working in environmental insurance?

Like many others in the industry, I “fell into” insurance. My path into insurance was influenced by mother, who was employed by a specialty wholesale market specializing in Pollution and Professional coverage. Initially I started off scanning policies (back when they were still sent in via regular mail) and other odds and ends around the office. I slowly became more involved with accounts becoming an Account Manager, then Account Execuitve with a small book of my own business. And here I am 17 years later, still dedicated to this niche market with Beacon Hill Associates and more eager to learn with my team and this great company!

What is the most important lesson you have learned in your career?

There is nothing wrong with admitting you just simply don’t know the answer to a question. There is no point in stumbling through it. I simply let my agent know, “I don’t know the answer, but I will research it and get back you with the answer.”  It’s true you learn something every day!

If you had to choose one word to describe the most important motivator to being a leader in your career, what would it be and why? What are you doing specifically at Beacon Hill to help you achieve this?

Teamwork. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. We all have our own set of skills and strengths, but when we can combine that with the skills and strengths of others, anything is possible!  I like to think a good team can improve efficiency and productivity.  Here at Beacon Hill, I am all about teamwork, constantly asking what I can do to help out other members of the Southeast Region and even beyond my own region and team.
